Sterling Silver Ortak Maeshowe Dragon Brooch

This gorgeous brooch is in the form of the Maeshowe Dragon and is fashioned from sterling silver.

It is stamped silver to back with the Edinburgh assay mark, the mark next to it is too small for me to make out. I am assuming this is Ortak as it is the same design and it came to me in original Ortak box (this is not included as too damaged, so is being presented in a new plain black box).

The brooch is 3.9cm x 3.5cm and is in lovely condition.

The design comes from the carving of a dragon into the stone wall of Maeshowe, a Neolithic chambered cairn in Orkney - it was carved by Vikings around 900 years ago.
