A very well decorated and striking Satsuma vase painted with scenes of people around and within a pavilion.
The neck is decorated with flowers and the band around the base features fans. In wonderful condition free from any chips or cracks, it measures 15.5cm high x 9.5cm at widest, with the base being 5cm and the neck 3.5cm across. It is signed to base (have not been able to trace the artist) and is obviously by a superior hand as the quality is excellent. This dates to the Meiji period and is c.1900.
Displays beautifully and looks great as a standalone piece or part of a collection.
